Overthinker Overthinking signs

Despite some evidence that women are more likely to overthink than men, in fact everyone thinks sometimes. There is a link between overthinking and mental health problems. Overthinking is linked to psychological problems, for example depression and anxiety.

Overthinking is likely to lead to poor mental health, and as your mental health deteriorates, the potential for overthinking increases. It’s a painful spiral down.

But this vortex is hard to recognize when you are stuck in the middle of it. In fact, your mind may be trying to convince you that worrying and overthinking is somehow helpful.

After all this, wouldn’t you develop a better solution or stop yourself from making the same mistake if you spent more time thinking? This is not necessary.

Often the opposite is true. Analytical paralysis is a real problem. You feel worse the more you think. Feeling angry, anxious, or miserable may also prevent you from taking positive action.

There are two types of overthinking

Overthinking comes in two forms; Rumination of the past and worrying about the future.

It is different from problem solving. Problem solving involves thinking of a solution. Overthinking involves delving into the problem.

Overthinking is also different from self-reflection. Healthy self-reflection is about learning something about yourself or gaining a new perspective on a situation. It is purposeful.

Overthinking involves thinking about how bad you feel and thinking about all the things you can’t control. It will not help you develop a new vision.

The difference between problem solving, self-reflection, and overthinking is not related to the amount of time you spend in deep thinking. The time you spend developing creative solutions or learning from your behavior is rewarding. But the time you spend overthinking, whether it’s 10 minutes or 10 hours, won’t improve your life.
